Wayne Raymond Hurst, age 61, of Kay Jay, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Wayne was born on January 16, 1957 to the late Link and Phebe Syme Hurst in Knox County, Kentucky. On March 4, 1978 he united in marriage to Debbie Logan. To this union two daughters were born Marlena Hurst Partin and Samantha Gail Hurst. He was an employee of Tru-Seal for 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Link and Phebe Syme Hurst, his sister: Lora and husband Bob Simpson, his brother: Ken Hurst, his brothers in law: Charles Troutman, Donnie Dunaway and William Lake, his father and mother in law: Bill and Dellena “Cricket” Logan and his sister in law: Connie Gail Logan.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbie Logan Hurst, two daughters: Marlena Hurst Partin and husband Billy of Artemus and Samantha Gail Hurst of Kay Jay, KY, his brothers: Johnny (Pansy) Hurst of Silver Grove, KY, Wade (Mickey) Hurst of Kay Jay, KY, Stanley (Shirley) Hurst of Cincinnati, OH, David (Mary) Hurst of Trosper, KY, Bill (Rosene) Hurst of Corbin, KY, his sisters: Shelby Troutman of Jones Town, KY, Wava Lake of Warren Camp, KY, Violet (Stanley) Peace of Artemus, KY, Sue (Doyle) Brooks of Barbourville, KY, Margaret (Nicky) Trent of Woolum, KY, sisters in law: Pat Smith of Gray, KY and Shirley hurst of Kay Jay, KY, brothers in law: William “Tigger” (Jenny) Logan of Artemus, KY, Greg (Betty) Logan of Stephen Trace, KY AND Bruce (Teresa) Logan of Heidrick, KY. Plus a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Wayne Raymond Hurst will be conducted Wednesday November 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Hopper Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Jimmy Wayne Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sowders Cemetery at Coal Port with David Baird, Steve Partin, Jack Partin, Mike Peace, Robert Dunaway and Nick Logan serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are all his special friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends after 6:00 Tuesday November 6, 2018 at Hopper Funeral Home.
