Union’s Lindsey Nabs AAC Player of the Week Honors

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College senior guard Dominique Lindsey is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the first time Lindsey has received this award in his career.

The 5-foot-11 guard posted a career-high 24 points on Saturday in the Bulldogs’ 86-84 loss to visiting Asbury (Ky.). Lindsey shot 80 percent from the field, hitting 8-of-10 shots. He made both of his 3-point attempts and was 6-for-8 at the foul line.

Lindsey also had three rebounds, three assists, and two steals on the evening.

For the season, Lindsey is averaging 11.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and leads the team with 51 assists. He ranks fifth in the AAC in free-throw shooting in making 78.2 percent from the charity stripe.

Union is ranked 15th in NAIA Division II and owns an 8-6 overall record. The Bulldogs are 5-2 in conference play.

Union will travel to Bluefield (Va.) for an AAC showdown on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
