Barbourville, Ky. – Wilma Jean Branstutter, passed away peacefully Sunday night, October 11, 2020. Wilma was the daughter of Cora Holmes, joyfully born to her on June 26, 1934.
As a young adult, Wilma settled in Toledo, Ohio. She married William Alford Branstutter on December 24, 1953 and together they created a loving home where they raised their beloved son, Billy Ray. Wilma worked outside the home for many years as a production supervisor for a national manufacturing company, and later as a teacher’s assistant. Wilma enjoyed bowling as a hobby. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother who treasured her family, and her beloved dog, Tippy, who passed away the same day as Wilma. Wilma also had a strong faith in the Lord and was a devoted member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Wilma is preceded in death by her mother Cora Holmes; by her dear husband, William Alford Branstutter; and by one brother, Jack Holmes. Left behind to mourn her passing is her son Billy Ray Branstutter and daughter-in-law Juanita; her brother, Bill Holmes; and her brothers-in-law, Roy Branstutter and Arnold Branstutter.
A graveside service will be held for Wilma on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Barbourville Cemetery. Reverend Garrett Garland will officiate. Family and friends will gather at Hopper Funeral Home before the funeral hour to travel in procession to the graveside service. Pallbearers will be cherished family members and friends.
