Willie Corey, age 90, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021.
He leaves behind four children, Diana Robbins & husband Doug of Maynardville, TN, and Karen Manning & husband Ed, Roger Corey & wife Sheila, Linette McPhetridge & husband Kevin, all of London, KY; four siblings, Clyde Corey of London, KY, W. R. Cobb of Barbourville, KY, Martha Henieson & husband John of Rome, GA, Perry Cobb of Barbourville, KY; eight grandchildren, Malena Liford & husband Brian, Kristy Watlington & husband Robert, Sara Manning & husband Daniel, Cody Manning & wife Audrey, Jonathan Corey & wife Kristen, Devin Corey, Corey McPhetridge & wife Whitney and Elaina McPhetridge; twelve great grandchildren, Daniel Liford & wife Makayla, Leanna Liford, Mason Watlington, Samuel Watlington, Isaac Brenner, Adina Brenner, Avery Damron, Colton Corey, Brody McPhetridge, Preslee Jett, Hadlee Hoskins and Rory Manning, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ollie Davidson Corey; his second wife, Wilma Bush Corey; his parents, Floyd and Martha Murphy Corey; his son, Kevin Douglas Corey; and two siblings, Georgia Howard and Virginia Hubbard.
Willie was a retired farmer, and a member of Campground United Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was known for telling great stories.
The family of Willie Corey will receive friends on Sunday, August 29, 2021 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. The family requests that all visitors please wear a mask and try to maintain a safe social distance. A family-only funeral will be held the following day with Brian Liford officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Facebook page for anyone who would like to watch. Burial will follow at the Corey Cemetery in London, KY. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
