Mr. William “Bill” Noe, 72, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 11, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late James M. and Lucille West Noe born on February 19, 1941 in Barbourville.
Bill was a retired L & N Railroad employee and a member of the Apple Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and golfing but was most proud of being a United States Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vesta Davis and husband, Jack; a sister-in-law, Judy Noe and a nephew, Zeb Noe.
Survivors include two sisters, Rita Bruner of Barbourville and Elizabeth “Liz” Tolliver Long of Knoxville, TN; two brothers, James Noe and Jerry Noe and wife, June, all of Bellevue; nieces and nephews, Jamie Ann Noe, James Noe and wife, Linda, Kim Stanfield, Jerry Noe, Jennifer Soellner, Jackie Ann Davis, Jimmy Davis and wife, Charity, and Billy Bruner and wife, Jennifer; a host of great nieces and nephews; cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Faulkner Chapel Cemetery Saturday, January 22 at 2 P.M. with Carson Mitchell and Dennis Messer officiating with military funeral honors given by the American Legion.
Casket bearers will be Jimmy Davis, Chris Corey, Marty Frost, Jeffrey Ketcham, Paul “J. J.” Lockard, Dennis Messer and Andy Teasley. Serving as honorary bearers will be Dee Stanton and all 1969 – 1970 Vietnam veterans, Jack Ketcham, Mike Mitchell, Johnny Tye, the courthouse crew and last but not least, his fantasy football league.
Friends may call at the cemetery prior to the service time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
