Mr. Wayland “Colonel” Runyon, 92, of Bryants Store, passed away Thursday morning, July 4, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was the son of the late Steve and Mary Lewallen Runyon.
Wayland was a farmer and a member of the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his farm and raising cattle. He was known to grow a large garden with sweet corn and okra.
Survivors include his loving brother, J.B. Runyon of Wilmington, OH and several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church Wednesday, July 10 at 2 P.M. He will be laid to rest in the Croley Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the church Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
