Wanda Faye Hembree, age 73 of Barbourville departed this life on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born on March 2, 1948 in Knox County, the daughter of Oval Richard and Ida Mary Hutton. On June 12, 1965, she united in marriage with Charles Helton and to this union one daughter was born. Faye was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church. She enjoyed fishing, reading, crafts, gardening and working puzzles. Along with her daughter she had operated the Movie Hut for several years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clifton Timothy Hutton and Clofas Lee Hutton, and two sisters, Martha Ellen Broughton and Mable Irene Broughton.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her daughter Charlene Renee Williamson and husband Rick and her granddaughter, Brooke Strong and husband Brad and her husband Stanley “Hoot” Hembree, all of Barbourville, two sisters, Rose Etta Sears and Phyllis Ann Bargo both of Corbin along with many special nieces, nephews and other family & friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Darrel Bargo officiating. Pallbearers will be Russell Broughton, Ricky Broughton, Dustin Broughton, Bradley Strong, Dalton Wyatt, Dylan Hamblin and Ryan Broughton. Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Barbourville ARH and Hazard ARH. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
