Barbourville, Ky. – Vivian Bingham Helton, age 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Barbouville, Kentucky, passed away May 27, 2024. Vivian was the daughter of Victor Allen Bingham, Sr. and Eva Bargo Bingham born to them March 9, 1935 in Jeff’s Creek, Knox County, Kentucky. Vivian was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith. Vivian united in marriage to Chester A. Helton on June 6, 1959, and to this union one beloved son, Terry, was born. Vivian was a dedicated homemaker. She kept a warm and inviting home, ensuring her husband and son were well taken care of. She enjoyed cooking home cooked meals for her family and was well known for her delicious chicken and dumplings and pinto beans and cornbread. In her spare time, she liked to watch and cheer for her favorite sports team, the Cincinnati Reds. Vivian will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Left behind to mourn Vivian’s passing is her son Terry Dewayne Helton; sister Mildred Bingham Smith; brother Gerald Travis Bingham; two grandchildren, Aaron Lee Helton (Ashley) and Holly Helton Hunter (Mark) and two great grandchildren, Cade Helton and Bryan Hunter. In addition to her parents, Victor and Eva Bingham, Vivian was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-eight years, Chester A. Helton, by one sister, Victoria Amis, and by seven brothers, Victor Allen Bingham, Jr., Buford Bingham, Chester Q. Bingham, James Matt Bingham, Lindberg Bingham, Willard Bingham, and infant brother, Herman Bingham.
A graveside service is planned for Vivian on Friday, May 31, 2024, 2:00 PM, at the Binghamtown Cemetery, Knox County, Kentucky. Pastor James Buchanan will officiate. Casket Bearers are Gary W. Williams, Gerald Bingham, Steve Smith, and Terry Gray.
