Barbourville, Ky. – Virginia Ann Bryant, 80, of Gausdale, passed away Wendesday morning, October 9. 2024. Virginia was born to Dorothy (Teague) and Henry Bryant on June 15, 1944. She was blessed with the good fortune to be born into a loving family, and one which consisted of many brothers and sisters, with whom she would remain close to all the days of her life. As Virigina grew up, she developed a quest for knowledge and understood the opportunities that education could bring to her. After college, Virginia earned her masters degree and embarked upon a teaching career, one that lasted for 25 years.
In her spare time, Virginia liked to vacation and she loved and respected Dolly Partin, because Dolly would “tell it like it is”. Virginia also admired the fact that Dolly “made it big” depite being born so poor. She found Dolly authentic and inspirational. Virginia was a caretaker. She enjoyed spending time with and showing through her actions, her family, how much she loved them. She never missed a family event. Virginia was also passionate about feeding her family. She generously treated her family numerous times to family meals – always wanting to do something nice for the family. Feeding them was one way she showed love to them.
Virginia is survived by one sister, Carol Helton and her husband Lewis, by one brother, Larry Bryant, by one sister-in-law, Linda Bryant and by many beloved family members. Preceding Virginia in death was her mother and father: Dorothy and Henry Bryant; a brother who died at birth, Charles; her sister, Wilma Coffee and her husband, Ed; and by brother Bobby Bryant and his wife, Geneva.
Funeral Services for Virginia are private. She will be interned in the Teague Cemetery in Gausdale.
