Virgie Prichard Bennett, age 89 of Bryant Store, departed this life on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She believed in the Baptist Faith and was a homemaker and avid quilter. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Bennett, her parents, Willie and Sarah Ellen (Messer) Prichard, her sisters, Bertha (Moss) Payne and Geneva (Harold) Miracle, two nephews, Gary Payne and Thomas Miracle.
She is survived by her son Randell and daughter-in-law, Angel Payne, her grandchildren, Randy Payne, Stephanie (Andie) Youngs, Daniel Payne (Angel Terry), Austin Payne, Jimmy (Miranda Miller) Payne and Shelby Payne, her great-grandchildren, Audrey Payne and Karsyn Payne and bonus grandson, Ayden Bargo, one sister, Doris Ferguson, a niece, Tammy (Mike) Baker and nephew, John Ferguson.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Josh Smith and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. She will be laid to rest in the W.E. Prichard Cemetery at Bryant Store. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
