Vercie Mills Smith, age 81 of Barbourville was born in Fields, KY on September 30, 1939 to the late Boss Mills and Liza Saylor Mills and departed this life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed watching TV, eating Ice Cream, and time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband: Lloyd Smith; a grandson: Joshua Hibbard; a granddaughter: Sarah Smith; 2 brothers: John Mills and Jeff Mills; 3 sisters: Doris Mills, Helen Bingham, and Evelyn Mills; and a son in law: Kenneth Gambrel preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children: Peggy Rankin and husband Carl of Pensacola, FL, Pat Smith and husband Jerry, and Mona Hibbard and husband Jimmie all of Barbourville, Lloyd Smith, Jr. and wife Melissa of Corbin, and Jeff Smith and wife Arcenia of Knoxville, TN; 2 sisters: Mahalia Messer and husband John of Flat Lick, and Barbara Sue Mills of Corbin; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Vercie Smith will be conducted in the Davis Cemetery at Acorn Fork on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Andrew Smith officiating. Burial will follow. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
