Barbourville, Ky. – Tommy Mills, age 48, of Scalf, Kentucky passed away March 15, 2024. Tommy was born January 12, 1976 in Pineville, Kentucky to Clifford Mills and Freda Smith Wilson. Tommy was a dedicated member of Sunrise Baptist Church. Tommy enjoyed farming and shopping at area yard sales but most of all he loved spending time with his grandbabies.
Tommy was preceded in death by his brother Jason Mills; Grandparents Chester and Elizabeth Mills and Loyd Cal and Ruby Bargo Smith; and Uncles Everett Mills, Arvil Smith, Nevil Smith, Homer Smith, Alrie Smith, and Wayne Broughton.
Left behind to mourn his passing are sons Joseph Cody Mills (Courtney) and Jacob Tommy Mills (Alisha) and daughters Tiffany Danielle Mills Hibbard and Leanna Dellar Mills (Travis) all of Scalf, Kentucky; former wife Stephanie Mills; father Clifford Mills of Scalf, Kentucky; mother Freda Smith Wilson (Lannie “Foot” Wilson) of Bimble, Kentucky; sister Ruby Mills Meade (Bradley) of Gray, Kentucky; Aunts Ruby Broughton, Lilly Mae Broughton (Terry), Kathy Ann Bruner (David), Pam Bright, Vivian Smith (John), Verda Hughes, and Reba Hensley (David); Uncles Colonel Smith, Reverend Harold Gene Smith (Irene), Reverend Don Smith (Barbara), and L.C. Smith (Doris) and seven cherished grandchildren, Addison Mills, Bryan Mills, Dalton Mills, Karson Mills, Tyler Hibbard, Jackson Hibbard and Jaythan Hibbard. Nieces Sarah Bingham, Kaylie Mills, and Bailee Jo Warren (Joshua); nephews Tyson, Brady and Ethan Price, Jason Tytan Everette and Elijah John Mills and a host of beloved cousins, including cousin Ashley Mitchell whom he loved like a sister, and many dear friends also survive Tommy and will miss him dearly.
The Mills family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Reverend Kennon Roark, Reverend Rick Thomas and Reverend Josh Collins will officiate. Musical tributes will be performed by Lonnie and Josh Carnes and Born Again. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Levi Bargo Cemetery at Salt Gum, Knox County, Kentucky. Tommy’s beloved family and friends will serve as Casket Bearers.
