Ms. Teetta Burnette, 71, of Girdler, passed away Friday morning, May 17, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Naomi Mills Smith born on April 23, 1953 at Rella in Bell County.
Teetta was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed watching television, tending flowers and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Brown and a niece, Shannon Mills.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Taylor and husband, Kenneth, of Walker; a brother, Trenta Smith of Girdler; several nieces and nephews including Cordia Brown and Kourtland Mills; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Smith Family Cemetery at Girdler Monday, May 20 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Bill Collins Jr. officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jamie Smith, Bryan Brown, Zak Abuzour, Bradford Brown, Devin Brown and Kevin Brown. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Alice Ward and the staff of Grace Community Health in Pineville and the staff of the Barbourville ARH Hospital.
Friends and family will meet at the funeral home Monday at 1:30 P.M. and go in procession to the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
