Swannie Wayne Bargo, age 69 of Parkers Branch Rd., Flat Lick, departed this life on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his home. He was the son of Estill and Ruby (Smith) Bargo born to them on April 3, 1953 in Hammond, Kentucky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Estill and Ruby Bargo, one brother Lonnie Bargo and three nephews, Robert Bargo, William Anthony Bargo and Jeremiah Jackson.
Swannie believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of Walker Baptist Church. He had been a coal miner for twenty years and was a member and lieutenant of the Stinking Creek Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He purchased several tracks of land to create the community called Parkers Branch Road today because that was always his vision. He loved to go fishing, especially with, Jr., Lizard and Big Wood and was the owner and operator of the first pay lake in Stinking Creek, Bargo Pay Lake. He also enjoyed a good game of cards in his spare time.
He was the best father-in-law in the world. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left behind to mourn is passing, his former wife of eighteen years, Dottie Bargo Goodin, one son, Kevin Wayne Bargo a.k.a. Jr. and wife Theresa of Flat Lick, one daughter, Shannon Kay Eversole a.k.a. Lizard and husband David of Cannon, two brothers, Wendell Bargo of Evarts, Kentucky and Linville Bargo and wife Pat of Flat Lick, six sisters, Joyce Ann Jackson and husband Terry of Lily, Connie Phipps and husband Ray of Corbin, Shelby Smith and husband Ralph of Barbourville, Jackie Moreland and husband Albert of Bimble, Vickie Henderlight and husband Lenny of Corbin and Regina Disney and husband Bobby also of Corbin, six grandchildren, Brandi Edwards, Autumn Cheyenne Eversole and Whitney Senters, Kody Bargo, Katelyn Bargo and Dillon Eversole, eight great grandchildren, Kendell Senters, Caileigh Senters, Calashia Senters, Kaden Senters, Aiden Williams, Marlee Edwards Maison Edwards, Tucker Edwards, Dillion Eversole, II and Aleah Eversole.
Funeral services for Swannie Bargo will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with his brother-in law, Billy Ray Taylor speaking and his family and friends sharing stories. He will be laid to rest in the Cole’s Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Rodney Bargo, David Jackson, Rick Warren, Josh Messer, Jason Spradlin and Josh Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be, David Eversole, Mark Kollar, Billy Taylor, Johnny Taylor, Jesse Jaynes, Mike Spradlin, Albert Moreland, Devin Moreland, Lenny Henderlight, Bobby Disney, Ralph Smith, Ray Phipps, Larry Broughton and Jerry Jackson. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday evening, July 10, 2022 ,from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
