Mr. Stanley Mills, 73, of Green Road, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Woodson and Mamie Bargo Mills born on March 14, 1948 at Salt Gum.
Stanley worked mining timbers and was a member of the Jeff’s Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed tinkering and working on his farm and spending time with family and friends.
On June 20, 1968, he united in marriage with Linda Elvira Garland and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Mamie Marie Mills; a sister, Linda Faye Mills Gray and a brother, Dellas Mills.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Lana Darlene Stidham and husband, Joe, of Corbin; sisters, Mona Jean Brown of Bimble, Wanda May Messer of Boone Height and Brenda Kay Bingham and husband, Danny, of Celina, OH; brothers, Shelby Mills and wife, Loretta, of Girdler, Lentus Mills of Clay County and Dallas Mills of Hopkinsville; precious grandchildren, Joseph Michael Stidham and Keisha, Kaitlyn Victoria Gilliam and husband, Matt, and Kassidy Noelle Stidham; three great grandchildren, Jonathan, Weston and Waylon; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, September 18 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Larry Joe Sizemore officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mills-Stidham Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
The family requests that all visitors wear a facial covering and practice social distancing during the visitation and funeral service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
