Stanley H “Hoot” Hembree, age 78 of Gray was born in Knox County, KY on December 4, 1945 to the late Harvey and Anna “Dutch” Davidson Hembree and departed this life on July 27, 2024 in the Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Apple Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed playing Golf, UK Basketball, going to the Lake, and time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
In addition to his parents: Harvey and Dutch Hembree; his wife: Faye Hembree; a daughter: Diana Hembree; 2 sisters: Dianne Johnson, and Joyce McWilliams; 2 brothers: Dennis Hembree and Charles Hembree; and 2 brothers-in law: Earl Mays and Norris “Goober” McWilliams preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving daughter: Shana Hudson and husband Danny of Barbourville; his son: Stanley Shannon Hembree of OH; a sister Jeanette Mays of Heidrick; 11 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Stanley “Hoot” Hembree will be conducted in the Apple Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Roy Vaughn and Rev. Brian Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hembree-Disney Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Apple Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to the funeral hour at 4.
