Mrs. Solina Katherine Babbs, 62, of Flat Lick, passed away Sunday morning, March 3, 2024 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Solomon and Meriam Mills Knuckles born on August 12, 1961 in Flat Lick.
Solina was a homemaker and a member of the Concord Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to music, taking care of her dogs and attending church. She dearly loved spending time with her family.
On August 18, 1979, she united in marriage with William H. Babbs at Girdler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Knuckles and a brother-in-law, Alton Ray West.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 44 years, William H. Babbs of Flat Lick; a sister, Juanita Knuckles West; a nephew, Ray West III and wife Carmen, of Barbourville; a great niece, Layla; several aunts, uncles and cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, March 9 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Terry Broughton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the A. J. Gray Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Rickey West, Dewayne Brock, Junior Miller, Gary Smith, Trevor West and Marty Gray. Serving as honorary bearers will be Tyler West and Ray West.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
