Mrs. Sheila Louann Carnes, 62, of Corbin, passed away Monday evening, February 24, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born on August 25, 1962 in Knox County, the daughter of the late Dora Mosley Maiden.
Sheila was a former factory worker, call center employee and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, singing, being out of doors and caring for her animals.
On April 29, 1984, she united in marriage with Terry Wayne Carnes and to this union four children were born.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Maiden; a sister-in-law, Shelia and step-father, Silas Maiden.
Survivors include her loving husband, Terry Wayne Carnes of Corbin; four children, Jonathan Carnes of Richmond, Christopher Carnes and Daniel Carnes both of Corbin and Jeffery Carnes and wife, Ashley, of London; grandson, Benjamin McPherson; a nephew, Cameron Owens and wife, Mercedes; a sister-in-law, Katrina Carnes; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, March 8 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Alonzo Messer and Barry Carnes officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mills Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
