Mrs. Sheila Joan Collins, 76, of Mackey Bend, passed away Friday evening, October 14, 2022 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ishmael and Helen Joyce Lockard Payne born on September 8, 1946 in Barbourville.
Sheila was a homemaker, former bookkeeper with J & H Welding and a member of Henderson Chapel. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Hilton Head, SC and Gatlinburg, TN. Sheila also enjoyed going on cruises and the beach was one of her favorite places. She loved her family and her grandchildren were precious to her.
In October 1977 she united in marriage with Harvey Collins, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include her beloved children, Eric Harvey Collins and wife, Melissa Renae, of Barbourville, Lisa Joyce Sample-Brown and husband, Timothy, of Bowling Green and Cindy Anne Swafford and husband, Timothy Lynn, of Corbin; sisters, Charlet Ostholthoff Wehman and husband, Derek, of Cincinnati, OH, Carol Jean Nimmo and husband, Thomas, of Martinsville, IN and Nora Lee Rust and David Berry of Loveland, OH; grandchildren, Elaine Joyce Brown Montgomery and husband, Chad, Kari Anne Williamson, Barak Bruce Williamson, Jacob Eric Collins and wife, Kaitlin, Jordan Trevor Collins, Jaxon Dakota Collins and Jathan Tyler Collins; great-grandchildren, Lillian Joyce Montgomery, Logan Michael Montgomery and Hudson Krew Collins; nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, October 20 at 12 Noon with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Charles Henson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mackey Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Timothy Brown, Timothy Swafford, Barak Williamson, Chad Montgomery, Jacob Collins, Jordan Collins, Jaxon Collins and Jathan Collins.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
