Obituary for Royce John Logan (1948-2025)

Mr. Royce John Logan, 76, of Bryants Store, passed away Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025 at his home.  He was born September 13, 1948 in Tucson, AZ, the son of the late Glen and June McCoy Logan.

John was a former firefighter with the U.S. National Park Service and a member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church.  He enjoyed his work and was a long-time firefighter with the Little Poplar Creek Fire Department and faithfully served his country in the United States Army.  John especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his pets, Hank and Princess Egg.

On February 14, 1975, he united in marriage with Joyce Burnadette Comeau, who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Raelyn Hampton; a sister, Christine Middleton; a brother, Dennis Logan and a nephew, Matthew Middleton.

Survivors include his loving children, Terri Tye and husband, Johnny, and Timothy Logan and wife, Rachael, all of Corbin; five treasured grandchildren, Brittany Logan, Erin Sizemore and husband, Trevor, Madison Logan, John Michael Logan and Logan Tye; three great grandchildren, Harley, Blake and Elijah; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at the St. Gregory Catholic Church Monday, January 13 at 1:30 P.M. with Father Mani George.

Casket bearers will be John Michael Logan, Garrett Shields, Barry Penn, Bill Oxendine, Stanley Lawson and Blake Hammons.  Serving as an honorary bearer will be Logan Tye.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday after 11 A.M. until 1 P.M., at which time family and friends will travel in procession to the church for his service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
