Roy Clay Ballard, age 85 of Barbourville was born in Bath County, KY on September 13, 1938 to the late Charlie Russell Ballard and Nora Mae Pervis Ballard and departed this life on July 6, 2024 in the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and enjoyed drinking Coffee, Talking, Telling Stories, Traveling, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents: Charlie and Nora Ballard; 2 wives: Nettie Ballard, and Ella Ballard; 2 daughters: Patsy Smith and Arlene Hale-Mills; and 7 siblings: Lida Pearl Ballard; Claude Edward Ballard, Russel Ray Ballard, Cecil Hurbert Ballard, Chester Arnold Ballard, Douglas Scott Ballard, and Richard Paul Ballard preceded him in death.
He is survived by 2 brothers: Lester Ballard of Wellington, and Russell Wayne Ballard of Orangeville; 3 grandchildren: Craig Mills, Cindy Matlock, and Adam Mills; 6 great grandchildren: Michelle, Avery, Jeidiah, Haedyn, Benjamin, and Scarlett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Ballard will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Ray Spicer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery in Flat Lick with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home Friday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 3.
