Ross Napier, Sr., 81 of Flat Lick, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Baptist Health in Louisville. He was born in Pineville on February 26, 1943, a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Selvey Napier. Ross had been a 4-year letterman for the Pineville High School Football Team and served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He was a deacon at Salem #2 Baptist Church for over 30 years and had worked as an electrician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, WB Napier, Paul Napier, Henry Napier, Jr., Howard Napier, Don Napier, Mary Alice Napier Lefevers, and Patricia Napier Mitsch.
Ross is survived by his wife, Jerlis Gibson Napier; sons, Steve Partin and wife, Lori, Ross Napier, Jr. and wife, Melissa, Joseph Napier, and Lonnie Miller; grandchildren, Presley Partin, Steven Partin, Abigail Napier, Reid Napier, Dillon Napier, Gabriel Napier, and Bentley Sumner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Salem #2 Baptist Church in Clear Creek with Rev. Dean Saunders and Rev. Allen Mason presiding. Music will be provided by Misty Gibson, Mac Partin, and Dean Saunders.
Burial will follow at the Pineville Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Partin, Reid Napier, Dillon Napier, Christian Mason, Colton Price, Ricky Pletcher, Lewis Gray, and Jerry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Smith, James West, Jackson Hammons, Jeff Phipps, and Ricky Hobbs.
