Mr. Ronald Lee Tipton Jr., 60, of Gray, passed away Thursday evening, October 21, 2021 at his home. He was the son of Willa Mae Kelly Tipton and the late Ronald Lee Tipton Sr. born on December 8, 1960 in Detroit, MI.
Ronald was federal police officer and of the Pentecostal faith. He loved being outdoors, watching things grow, hunting, fishing and mowing the yard. He also wrote poetry and enjoyed playing the guitar.
On July 26, 1980, he married his childhood sweetheart, Carolyn Sproles, and to this union four children were born.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Tipton.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 41 years, Carolyn Tipton of Gray; his mother, Willa Mae Tipton; four children, Samson Lee Tipton and wife, Jessica Nichole, Jonathan Ron Tipton and wife, Monica Kay, and James Edward Tipton all of Gray and Lauren Paige Sampson and husband, Jordan Lynn, of Slaughters; four sisters, Nina Reece of Somerset, Jan Rose Hollin of Lily, Rhonda Marlene Townsley and Lori Ann Havelka both of Gray; two brothers, Glenn William “Bill” Tipton of Gray and Gwen Jerome “Jerry” Tipton of Keavy; treasured grandchildren, Trinity Faith Cornett and Amber Nichole Henson; a host of nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, October 28 at 2 P.M. He will be laid to rest in the Tipton Family Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
