Obituary for Ronald Lee Foley (1964-2022)

Ronald Lee Foley, 57 of Flat Lick, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born in Pineville on June 6, 1964, a son of James and Lena Smith Foley. Ronald loved to play football for the Pineville High School Mountain Lions. His favorite saying was, “Stay on the Sunny Side.”

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Lizzie Foley and Robert Lee and Lena Smith; uncles, LeRoy Foley, Matthew Foley, Edward Foley, John Foley, and Robert Smith; and aunts, Bobbie Peavley, Dorothy Bishop, Cecil Foley, Thelma Foley, L.V. Foley, and Katherine Foley.

Ronald is survived by his parents, James and Lena Smith Foley; brother, James W. Foley, Jr.; aunts, Truddie Powell, Maxine Potter, Martha Ferguson, and Bessie Elliott; special friends, Charles Ed Burnett, Jessie Thompson, Donald Hobbs, and Matt Callihan; and a host of cousins, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Clark presiding. Music will be provided by Rhonda White. Burial will follow at the Rosenwald Cemetery in Barbourville. Pallbearers will be Robert Bishop, Shawn Brown, Phillip Elliott, Josh Brock, Jessie Thompson, Charles Eddie Burnett, and Rodney Hill.
