Obituary for Ronald Dean Eldridge (1961-2021)

Mr. Ronald Dean Eldridge, 59, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2021 at his home.  He was the son of the late William Ernest and Mossie Mae Hubbard Eldridge born on December 19, 1961 in Bell County.

Ronald was a former maintenance employee with Kroger and of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and sports, especially UK Wildcats.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Roger Fuson, Neva Butt and John Wayne Fuson; six sisters, Rita Darlene North, Nancy Jackson, Judy K. Killion, Beulah Laws, Imogene Bays and Dorothy Fuson and six brothers, James Gambrel, Donald Ray, William Ernest Jr., Chet, Arnold and Eddie Eldridge.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ethel Eldridge of Barbourville; six children, Loretta Eldridge and husband, Harley, of Barbourville, Sylvia Howard and husband, Rob, of Corbin, Getall Fuson and Dillon Fuson both of Barbourville, Dolly Cole and husband, Vernon, of Davis Bend and Jamie Partin and fiancé, Lee, of Barbourville; a brother, Tommy Gambrel and wife, Hazel, of Scipio, IN; 16 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted at the Centers Branch Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday, February 10 at 1 P.M. with Rev. David Hoskins and Rev. Kelly Partin Jr. officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Davis Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call at the church Tuesday after 6 P.M. until the funeral hour Wednesday.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
