Mr. Roger Eugene Myers age 77 of Barbourville, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1944 the son of Zona (May) Myers and Claude Myers. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Zona Myers and several brothers and sisters.
Roger had been a coal miner. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, cracking walnuts on the front porch for the squirrels and being with his family. He always liked to say “I did it my way”.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his son, Craig Myers and his companion Axie Abner of Barbourville, and his daughter, Jennifer Gibson and husband Alex of Alabama, a special friend Linda Mays of Barbourville, one sister, Jessie Bull of Virginia, six grandchildren, Cameron Myers, Emma Myers, Alexis Gibson, Devin Abner, Jared Abner and Jerica Abner. He also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Myers will be laid to rest in the Jonestown Cemetery at Kay Jay on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. with family and friends present.
