Mr. Robert Walter “Bobby” Jackson, age 70 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on December 25, 2024 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was the husband of Nicia Medina DeGuia Jackson with whom he united in marriage on July 16, 1987. They celebrated their wedding on August 30, 1987. He was the son of Frank Jackson and Zula Mabel Ortega Jackson born to them on February 19, 1954 in Knox County.
Bobby was a retired railroad worker with CSX and served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, whittling and playing basketball and his favorite team was UK.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Jackson, his grandmothers, Mattie Jackson and Clara, his mother and father-in-law, Zenon L. DeGuia and Florencia M. DeGuia.
Survivors include his wife, Nicia Jackson, his mother, Mable Jackson, three sons, Robert Jackson (Napas), Kevon Z. Jackson and Guillermo I. Jackson, four daughters, Maria Swafford (Michael), Yvette Couch (Travis), Medina Adams (D.J.) and Enrica D. Jackson, sister Clara Cates (Joe) and brother, Lee Jackson, grandchildren, Gracie, Jordon, Anna and Norah Jackson, Mia, Michael & Mylie Swafford, Jacob & Brady Engle, nephew David Hinkle and nieces, Callie Jo Yeager and Fatima Mills, brothers and sisters-in-law, Juliana “Yani” Muffett (Graham), Eliza “Bing” DeGuia, Leonardo “Ding” DeGuia (Let), Mario M. DeGuia (Gee) and Liova M. DeGuia. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Jackson will be conducted on Monday, December 30, 2024 in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow the service. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Lee Jackson, Rob Jackson, Kevon Jackson, Guil Jackson, Jacob Engle, Brady Engle, Michael Swafford, Michael Swafford, II, D.J. Adams and Travis Couch.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m.
