Mr. Robert Taylor age 77 of Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. One of ten children, he was born on June 2, 1946 in Lexington Kentucky the son of Leslie Taylor and Coreen (Hubbard) Taylor. On January 24, 1970, he united in marriage with Deborah Willoughby and to this union four children were born. Robert had worked at the Knox County HELP Center for thirty-five years and was assistant manager there before retiring.
Robert believed in the Baptist faith. He loved witnessing to everyone and loved being around people, especially his family and grandchildren. He also loved to read his Bible and enjoyed listening to country and gospel music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Coreen Taylor and eight brothers and sisters, Danny Taylor, Sr., Conley Taylor, Gene Taylor, Shirey Carnes, Karen Hammons, Marilyn Henson, Pearl Taylor and Vernie Maurice Taylor.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Deborah Taylor of Barbourville, his devoted children, Melissa Taylor and husband Richard of Lexington, Robert Warren Taylor and wife Courtney of Corbin, Christal Lynn Trosper and husband Jessie of Barbourville and Michael Allen Taylor of Danville, eleven grandchildren, Cassie, Jessica, Bradley, Kristin, Rebecca, Hannah, Breanna, Zoey, Kyleigh, Micah and Cora, four great-grandchildren, Jade, Maury, Raegan and Addison, one brother, Harold Taylor of Lexington. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leslie Broughton officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Richard Taylor, Roger Willoughby, Michael Willoughby, Dustin Risner, Dustin Mills and Jimmy Cornn. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
