Obituary for Rex Dwight Hamilton (1980-2020)

Rex Dwight Hamilton age 40 of Trosper, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Barbourville ARH. He was the husband of Teresa (Johnson) Hamilton and the son of Charles “Catman” Hamilton and the late Mary (Brown) Hamilton born to them on January 9, 1980 in Pineville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with all his family and friends and making them laugh.

          He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Hamilton and his grandparents, Hazel and Lee Brown and Rosalee and Ed Hamilton.

          Left behind to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Teresa Hamilton and his two daughters Brooklin and Manica Hamilton, his father and second mom, Charles and Barbara Hamilton all of Trosper, one sister, Jennifer Blackburn and husband Jeff of Georgetown, two brothers, Gary Hamilton and wife Christy of Boone Height and Gary Fuson and wife Angie of Trosper, his mother and father in law who he always looked at as a second Mom & Dad,  Leslie and Dana Butler of Trosper, nieces and nephews, Autumn Hamilton, Courtney Parrott, Sarah Parrott, Gary Fuson, Cody Hoskins and Rachel Johnson,  special friends, Lon Rice, Jerry and Cheryl King, Brian and Christy Lawson, James Fox, David and Charlene Evans, Leslie Mason, Gary & Debbie Eversole, Mike Blevins and Greg and Cathy Brown. He also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends.

          Funeral services for Rex Hamilton will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Hamilton officiating. Pallbearers will be Greg Brown, Tyler Collins, Gary Fuson, Jerry King, Larry Hinkle, Jimmy Hubbard and Jeff Blackburn. He will be laid to rest in the Burch Alford Cemetery at Artemus, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

          The family would also like to send a special thank you to all the doctors and staff of the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington for all their care and kindness.

          Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.

          Please remember, during the ongoing pandemic, there will be capacity restrictions and social distancing guidelines that we will need to follow during all our services. This will include wearing a face covering as mandated by the Governor of Kentucky for the safety of our families, visitors’ and staff.
