Rev. Tony Russell McVey, 52, of Gray, passed away Tuesday evening, January 23, 2024 at his home. He was the son of Clark Bargo Jr. and Patricia Engle McVey Bargo and the late Russell McVey born on July 12, 1971 in Corbin.
Tony was a former wire mill machine operator and a member of God’s Temple Church. He loved Jesus and telling others about Him, watching the Boston Celtics and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. He most loved raising his children and spending time with his family.
On January 18, 1992, he united in marriage with Pamela Faye Antonikowski.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell McVey.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela McVey of Gray; parents, Clark and Patricia Bargo; two children, Joe and Heaven McVey of Gray; sisters, Darla Allen of North Carolina and Jessica Schaffer of Corbin; a brother, Travis Bargo of Gray; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at God’s Temple Church Sunday, January 28 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ray Dean Jr. and Rev. Pete Clark officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cox Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Donnie Francett, Jacob Francett, Kevin Baker, Josh Mobley and Cody Mobley.
Friends may visit at the church Sunday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
The family has asked that memorials be made to God’s Temple Church in his memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
