Ms. Rebecca Renea Smith, 67, of Corbin, passed away Tuesday morning, August 8, 2023 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was the daughter of Mavis Davenport Suttles Engle and the late Ray Suttles born on June 21, 1956 in Pineville.
Rebecca was a former assembly line worker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting and crocheting.
In February 1973, she united in marriage with Ray Smith and to this union two children were born.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Suttles.
Survivors include her loving mother, Mavis Engle of Corbin; beloved children, Jeffery Smith of Corbin and Jaime Wilhite and husband, Julio, of Bossier City, LA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Tabatha Suttles of Harvard, IL and Benjamin and Penny Suttles of Barbourville; treasured grandchildren, Mya Smith, Ayana Wilhite and Lorenzo Wilhite; a special uncle and aunt, Arliss and Teresa Davenport; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, August 13 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Dennis McCoy officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Carnes Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Tony Brown, Brandon Collins, Nick Smith, Kris Smith and Julio Wilhite.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
