Obituary for Raelynn Reed Hampton (2023)

Barbourville, Ky. – Raelynn Reed Hampton, 12 days old, of Brush Creek, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023.  Raelynn was the daughter of Logan Reed Allen Hampton and Madison Victoria Logan Hampton born to them on May 8, 2023, in Corbin, Kentucky.  Raelynn was a perfect, precious baby girl and although she was only on this earth for a short time, she captured the hearts of all of her dear family members.  

Left behind to mourn Raelynn’s passing are her parents Logan Reed Allen Hampton and Madison Victoria Logan Hampton, paternal grandparents Stephen Reed Hampton and Shannon Hampton, and Becky Peace and Chris Peace, paternal great-grandparents Elbert Reed Hampton and Nancy Clay Hampton, and Jay McCreary and Helen McCreary, maternal grandparents Leah Hamilton and Billy Hamilton, and Timothy Logan, maternal great-grandparents Michael Warren and Sharon Warren, and John Logan, Aunts’ Olivia Rae Smith, Chesney Elizabeth Hampton, Erin Sizemore (Trevor), and Uncle Johnmichael Logan, Great Aunts’ Susan Lynn Merida (Scotty), Lisa Ann Yeager (John), and Terri Logan Tye, and Great Uncles’ Greg McCreary (Beth), David Warren (Jennifer), and Chris Warren (Jennifer) as well as beloved cousins Marcus Reed Merida, Johnna Rae Yeager, Dallas Reed Yeager, Jayden McCreary, Jaxen Warren, Devan Mieles Warren, Deryn Warren, Logan Tye, and Brittiani Logan Tye.  Raelynn’s dad Logan’s, God Parents’, Raymond Eldridge and Edwina “Pooh” Eldridge, also survive her.  Raelynn’s maternal great-grandmother, Joyce Logan, proceeded her in death.     

The Hampton family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.  Reverend Josh Smith will officiate with musical tributes performed by Edwina Eldridge.  A grave side service and interment, officiated by Reverend Raymond Eldridge, will follow the funeral service in the Lay – Hampton Cemetery, Little Brush Creek, Knox County, Kentucky.  Raelynn’s Grandfathers will serve as Casket Bearers.  Honorary Casket Bearers are Marcus Reed Merida, Dallas Reed Yeager, Johnna Rae Yeager, Jaxen Warren, Johnmichael Logan, Trevor Sizemore, and Logan’s co-workers from Bowlin Energy and Cumberland Valley Electric.   

The Hampton family expresses a heartfelt thank you to Victoria Hopper and Sally Hopper, and the dedicated staff of Hopper Funeral Home for their professional and compassionate care during this most difficult time of need.
