Obituary for Phillip Alexander “Alex” Perry (1971-2025)

Mr. Philip Alexander “Alex” Perry, 53, of Danville, IL, passed away Saturday morning, March 15, 2025 at the La Bella of Danville. He was the son of Dr. Glenn Earl Perry and Eleanor Rose Hypes Perry born October 1, 1971 in Terre Haute, IN.

Alex was amateur inventor who was always working on his latest project and was a talented painter. He enjoyed listening to George Jones and spending time with the staff and friends he made at the La Bella nursing facility. He was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tollie and Pearl Taylor Perry and maternal grandparents, Ralph Hypes and Nettie Duncan Hypes Wysong Sponagle.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Dr. Glenn Earl and Eleanor Rose Perry, of Terre Haute, IN; sisters, Barbara Perry, of Terre Haute, IN, Catherine Perry Stokes and husband Dr. Todd, of Corbin and Lucy Edith Perry, of Terre Haute, IN; brother, Glenn Earl Perry Jr. and wife, Mary Ruth, of Clay City, IN; nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Taylor Cemetery at Blackwater Saturday, March 22 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Ralph Halcomb officiating.

Serving as casket bearers will be his family and friends.

Friends may visit at the cemetery after 10:30 A.M. until the service time.

The family would like to thank the staff of La Bella of Danville for the excellent care they provided Alex throughout his illness.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
