Barbourville, Ky. – Paul Steven Epperson, 60, fondly known as Steve, of London, Kentucky, formerly of Barbourville, Kentucky, passed away September 30, 2023. Steve was the son of Paul William Epperson and Gracie Jordan Epperson born to them September 21, 1963, in Dewitt, Knox County, Kentucky.
Steve was a kind, hardworking man who loved his family fiercely. Steve united in marriage to Denise Dyer Epperson on July 4, 1981, and together, they raised two sons. Steve was a self-employed electrician. His family fondly referred to him as the “handyman” because of his natural talent for repairing things. Steve was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, listening to classic music, especially classic rock, and spending time with his two sons. He was also known to brag about his sons every chance he got as well as share pictures of his grandchildren with others. Steve will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Left behind to mourn Steve’s passing is his beloved wife of 42 years Denise Dyer Epperson, sons Dustin Dimitri Epperson (Jessica Daniel Epperson) and Donovan Seth Epperson (Corey Reeves Epperson), brothers Mark Epperson (Bobbi Lee Epperson) and David Epperson, and sisters Jamie Sargent (Timothy) and Heather Epperson. Four cherished grandchildren, Sadie Rose Epperson, Evan Cash Epperson, Alexis Katherine Epperson, and Sawyer Rhett Epperson, also survive Steve.
The Epperson family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Reverend Mark Epperson will officiate. Casket Bearers are Adam Warren, Michael Kunkel, Dustin Epperson, Donovan Epperson, Brandon Havens, and Brandon Davisson. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Hammon’s Cemetery, Girdler, Knox County, Kentucky.
The Epperson Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hopper Funeral Home. All donations will go towards covering the cost of funeral expenses.
