Mrs. Patricia Ann Lawson, 71, of Artemus, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 2025 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was born on April 25, 1953 in Norton, VA, the daughter of the late Rev. B. F. and Freda Miracle Jackson.
Patty was the business manager of the former Sonny’s Sporting Goods and a member of the First Baptist Church Artemus, where she served in the WMU and AWANA. She enjoyed tending flowers, cooking for family and friends and adored her grandchildren.
On December 20, 1969, she united in marriage with Calvin “Sonny” Lawson and to this union two children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Taylor and husband, Bobby, and a brother-in-law, Dwaine Bellefeuille.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 55 years, Sonny Lawson of Artemus; children, Kevin Lawson and wife, Holly, of Mt. Sterling and Marti Partin and husband, Kevin, of Artemus; sisters, Cathy Bellefeuille and Pam Jackson both of Artemus; four cherished grandchildren, Sunni Ann Partin, Darcy Faith Lawson, Noah William Partin and Maddie Grace Lawson; in-laws, Peggy and Jay Messer, Betty Davenport, Stan and Janelle Lawson and Doreen Hamilton; several nieces and nephews; special golden girls, Doreen Hamilton, Pauline Fee and Teresa Carnes; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church Artemus Saturday, March 8 at 2 P.M. with Dr. Ronnie Owens and Rev. Ralph Halcomb officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Jacob Smith, Jonah Smith, Logan Smith, Lance Smith, Noah Partin and Kevin Partin. Serving as honorary bearers will be her church family.
Friends may visit at the church Saturday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
