Mrs. Olliva M. Johnson, 77, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday morning, November 17, 2019 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Creed and Lottie Brooks Barnett born on August 16, 1942 in Bell County.
Olliva was a former homemaker and a member of the Barbourville Church of God. In earlier years, she enjoyed cooking, tending flowers, gardening and shopping.
On December 24, 1959, she united in marriage with James H. Johnson and to this union four children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Treasa Lynn Johnson; two sisters, Azalee Bays and Elsie Scott and two brothers, Ervin and Sparling Barnett.
Survivors include her loving husband, James H. Johnson of Barbourville; three children, James Ervin Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, William Joseph Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa and Marshall Wayne Johnson of Altoona, Iowa; two sisters, Juanita Baker and husband, Glen, of Blanchester, OH and Virginia Campbell of Ottawa, OH; three brothers, Roosevelt Barnett and wife, Judy, of Harrogate, TN, Olin Barnett of Ingram and Rev. Phillip Barnett and wife, Idella, of Middlesboro; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted at the Barbourville Church of God Wednesday, November 20 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Sylvester Dunn and Rev. Phillip Barnett officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barnett Cemetery in Pineville.
Casket bearers will be her nephews. Honorary bearers will be the staff of Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday after 12 noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
