Mrs. Nettie Smith age 71 of Girdler, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Arvil Smith and the daughter of the late Golden and Edna Jordan. She was born on November 9, 1949 in Knox County.
Nettie was united in marriage to her beloved husband Arvil on May 2, 1967. She spent her time working alongside him in their furniture store for over thirty years. She also enjoyed spending time with her two sons and grandchildren, going to flea markets and collecting antique furniture. Nettie was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arvil Smith, her parents, Golden and Edna Jordan and one brother Charles Jordan.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her two sons, Landen Smith and wife Crystal of Girdler and Donnie Smith and wife Angie of Blanchester, Ohio, five brothers, Tom Jordan and wife Darlene, Orlan Jordan and wife Karen all of Blanchester, Ohio, Anderson Jordan and wife Jackie of Barbourville, Bill Jordan and wife Joyce of Girdler and Kenny Hall of Barbourville, three sisters, Erma Messer and husband Floyd of Girdler, Axie Brown and husband David of Barbourville and June VanHook of Barbourville, five grandchildren, Jeremy Burton and fiance’ Shelby, Jeff Smith and wife Shelby, Kristy Jones and husband Anthony, Dylan Wilson and Cameron Smith, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends of whom she thought fondly.
Funeral services for Nettie will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jeremy Burton, Jeff Smith & Cameron Smith, nephews Nick Jordan, David Smith, Dewayne Brown and Philip Jordan-Wilburn and honorary pallbearer, Steve Jordan. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Arvil in the Calvin Jordan Cemetery at Hammons Fork. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
