Barbourville, Ky.- Nancy Delph Hacker, 88, of Girdler, passed away peacefully May 7, 2021 at her home, surrounded by loving family. She was the daughter of Gilbert Delph and Georgia Rowland Delph, joyfully born to them on April 16, 1933 in Woolum, Kentucky.
Nancy was a devoted member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church. She was passionate about church and enjoyed attending Sunday School classes. Nancy also loved reading her Bible and her Sunday School book. Nancy was blessed with a large family. She united in marriage to Robert Joe Hacker in June of 1957 and to this union three children were born. In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Nancy worked for thirty years at Warners before retiring. In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nancy also loved to garden and solve word search puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Gilbert Delph and Georgia Rowland Delph, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joe Hacker, and her loving sister Effie Sue Delph.
Left behind to celebrate Nancy’s life are her children: daughter, Brenda Rhodes (Mike), daughter, Sheila Callebs (Tony), and son, David Hacker (Vickie) and three dear siblings,Tom Delph, Jane Delph and Helen Delph. Four grandchildren: Mikaela Rhodes, Jonathan Callebs (Samantha), Lori Robinson (Curtis), Wendi Mills (Nathan) and four great grandchildren: Braylee Callebs, Aubree Callebs, Kallie Robinson, and Eli Robinson will miss her greatly. Sister-in-law Floretta Gregory, and special caregiver Amy Becklhymer, as well as, a host of loved ones and friends will remember Nancy fondly.
Visitation will be at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Reverend David Barnard and Reverend Ralph David Halcomb will officiate with musical tributes performed by Allie Parsons, David Banard and Ralph David Halcomb. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the Hacker Cemetery at Girdler, Kentucky. Family has chosen Tony Callebs, Mike Rhodes, Jonathan Callebs, Curtis Robinson, Nathan Mills, and David Greenwood as Casket Bearers. Honorary Bearers are members of the Locust Grove Baptist Church, Dr. Charles Stargel, and staff from Bluegrass Hospice Navigators.
