Mrs. Terry Lynn Mitchell, age 64 of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Saint Joseph Hospital – London. She was the daughter of Elmer and Jeanetta Sue Barnes Hammons born to them in Detroit, Michigan on January 4, 1956.
Terry was a Christian and believed in the Baptist faith. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking and canning for them.
She is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Hammons and her husband Ronald Leigh Mitchell.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her sons, Michael Hammons and his wife Rachel Black of London, Kentucky and John Mitchell and his wife Sarah Hicks of Corbin, Kentucky, a brother Bill Hammons of Michigan, and two sisters, Gwen Hammons and Sherry Hammons, both of Lexington, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, Hannah Hammons, Hayley Hammons, Elijah Hammons, Dustin Black, Ryan Brown, Madison Hicks, Morgan Hicks, Malorie Hicks and Mase Hicks and a very special niece Lizzy Newell along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Terry Mitchell will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 6th, 2020 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Ronnie Smith, officiating. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
