James Mitchell Hamilton, age 69 of Barbourville, was born in Cynthiana, KY on June 19, 1952 to the late James and Marie Price Hamilton and departed this life on June 22, 2021 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns, reading books, taking walks, and time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren. Most will remember Mitchell from his years of hard work, dedication, and sense of humor at McDonald’s.
In addition to his parents, a granddaughter: Ohana Raven Hamilton; 3 sisters: Donie Hamilton, Peggy Hamilton, and Brenda Thorton; and his mother-in-law: Edna Jones preceded him in death.
Mitchell is survived by his loving wife: Barbara Hamilton of Barbourville; his children: Justin Hamilton and wife Miranda, and Holly Hamilton all of Barbourville; a brother: Robert Moore and wife Gina of Keavy; 3 sisters: Debra Hamilton, Linda Wilkerson, and Bobbie Jones all of Barbourville; 5 grandchildren: Tabitha Lunsford, Jayce Hamilton, Jayden Hamilton, Jaymeson Hamilton, and Mira Jay Hamilton; 4 nieces: Rebecca Jones, Heather Jones, Sabrina Webb, and McKenna Cox; 2 nephews: Colton Castle and Chandler Castle; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Mitchell Hamilton will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ramey Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the Ketchen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer is Jayce Hamilton. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
