Mrs. Mildred Reid, age 62 of Barbourville, departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2025 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was the widow of Charles Reid and the daughter of B.R. and Cledia Smith, born to them on October 31, 1962.
Mildred believed in the Baptist faith and had attended the First Baptist Church in Barbourville for a time. She enjoyed crocheting, surfing the web for recipes, making desserts for her son and his friends, talking on the phone, watching the UK wildcats play and her beloved pets, Bella and Yuna.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Reid, her parents, B.R. and Cledia Smith, her brother Ricky Smith, one infant brother and two sisters, Maudie and Carolyn Smith.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her dear son Richard Reid and five siblings, Roeann Rice and husband Bill, Patricia Bargo and husband Linville, Willard Smith, Willis Smith and wife Debbie and Bill Dewayne Smith. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Reid will be conducted on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm. With Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Henry Mills Cemetery on Road Fork with pallbearers being Johnny Napier, Logan Napier, Luke Smith, Dewayne Hubbard, Hayden Mounce, Trevor Thomas and Josh Collins. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
