Mr. Michael Paul Smith, 44, of Girdler, passed away Wednesday morning, July 28, 2021 at his home. He was the son of June Jordan Smith Brown and the late Michael E. Smith born on June 2, 1977 in Barbourville.
Michael was a maintenance employee with the Walmart Supercenter in London and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed going to car shows, sight-seeing drives, knife collecting, building model cars and spending time with family and friends.
On April 17, 1999, he united in marriage with Samantha Warren and to this union a daughter was born.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; an aunt, Loretta Magee; uncles, Roger Smith, Jerry and Leroy Jordan and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Warren.
Survivors include his loving wife, Samantha Smith of Girdler; cherished daughter, Hailey Grace Smith of Girdler; his mother, June Brown of Corbin; father-in-law, Rev. Jim Warren of Jarvis; a life-long friend, Steve Smith of Hammons Fork; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, August 7 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Lonnie Messer and Rev. Joseph Messer officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Smith Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
