Obituary for Michael May (1952-2022)

 Mr. Michael May age 70 of Barbourville departed this life on Thursday morning, December 1, 2022. He was the husband of Katie (Dye) May and the son of Cecil and Nancy (Merida) May born to them on January 12, 1952. He was a member of Callihan Baptist Church.

      Michael was a retired truck driver for Metal Products in Corbin, Ky. His favorite things to do were trading and going to yard sales and spending time with his family and friends.

      He is preceded in death by is parents, Cecil and Nancy May and one brother, Doug May.

     Left behind to mourn his passing, his devoted wife and children, wife Katie of Barbourville, children, Karen Hatch and husband Wayne of Corbin, Steve May and wife Angie of Barbourville, Dane May and wife Miranda of Corbin, Amanda Gray of Barbourville, Michael Parks and wife Natasha of Turkey Creek, and Steven Parks of Barbourville, fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, three brothers, Kenneth May and wife Judy of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Larry May and wife Laura of Novi, Michigan, Terry May and wife Jena of London, five sisters, Gail Davis and husband M.J. of Corbin, Debbie Mills of Knoxville, TN, Carolyn Swain of Corbin, Vicki Dixon of London and Tammi Smith of Corbin. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

      Funeral services for Michael May will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Frederick officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery on Road Fork. Pallbearers will be, Jeff Potter, Michael Parks, Balem Asher, Joe Dye, Pete Mills and Donald May. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00.
