Obituary for Mary Ruth Bargo (1960-2024)

Mary Ruth Bargo, age 64 of Katy, Texas, formerly of Knox County, departed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her home. She was born February 13, 1960, the daughter of Nasby and Julia Bargo. Mary worked for the VA in Texas where she was a programmer and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

       She is preceded in death by her parents, Nasby and Julia Bargo, grandparents, Abe and Dora Bargo and James and Nancy Bargo and infant brothers, James Tilmon Bargo and Sie Sonny Mills and a brother-in-law, Joe Detherage.

       Left behind to mourn her passing, eight siblings, Swilla Faye Adams and husband Hobert of Barbourville, Darrel Bargo and wife Debbie of Gray, Clara Detherage of Barbourville, Bonita Smith and husband Paul of Louisiana, Jerry Bargo of Heidrick, Jack Bargo and wife Sherri of Virginia, Nasby Merrell Bargo and wife Tracy of London and Cheryl Landon and husband Michael of Knoxville, nieces and nephews, Heather Bargo, Tara Bargo Mills, Julie Bargo, Bethany Bargo Smith and husband Doug, David Wayne Adams and friend Kim Hughes, Lori Bargo McKeehan and husband Marcus, Aaron Bargo and wife Jodi, Bianca Bargo Strevels and husband Micah, Seth Bargo, Sheralyn Smith Long and husband Richard and Jason Smith and wife Sarah, great nieces and nephews, Max McKeehan, Maverick McKeehan, Lane Smith, Nasby Long, Jude Long, Ruby Long, Owen Smith, Madison Adams, Madalyn Adams, Zoey Bargo, Ivey Bargo, Silas Strevels and William Strevels. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Mary Ruth Bargo will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Aaron Bargo and Rev. Darrel Bargo officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00.
