Barbourville, Ky. – Mary Magarett Lowe Roark, 72, of Barbourville passed away September 6, 2022. Mary Magarett was born in Knox County, Kentucky on August 2, 1950 to Lottie Brock Lowe and Squire William Lowe. Ms. Roark was a devout Christian and of the Pentecostal faith. She loved the Lord, her church (Scalf Chapel), and her family.
Mary Magarett is survived by four children: Jerry Author Middleton of Michigan, William Michael Middleton of Missouri, Wanda Gail Roark and Debra Kay Kelly, both of Barbourville; by six sisters: Jewell Warren, of Hinkle, Judy Davis (Michael), Maggie Sammons (Bill) of Flat Lick, Shelia Mills (David) of Woodbine, Darlene Walker of London and Doris Hill (Junior) of Barbourville. Mary Magarett leaves behind also, four brothers: Jerry Lowe of Gray, Samuel Brock of Missouri, Jimmy Brock of Hinkle and Elmer Brock of Gray. Eleven grandchildren are left to mourn her passing: Tony Roark, Jr., Cassandra Roark, Tanya Roark, Ricky Roark, Joshua Roark, Rosetta Sharp, Tasha Middleton, Jerry Middleton, and John Middleton. Mary Magaret leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren as well. Mary Magarett was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie Brock Lowe and Squire William Lowe, and by two brothers, William Ronald Lowe and Terry Michael Lowe.
Family and Friends will gather at Hopper Funeral Home at 10:00 to travel in procession to the Lowe Cemetery, Gray, Kentucky for the interment of Mary Magarett Lowe Roark. Mourners are also welcome to meet the procession at the cemetery. The Roark family has chosen for casket bearers: Issac Hill, Drake Gray, Chad Sammons, Timmy Johnson, Matthew Walker, and Acey Martin.
