Obituary for Martha Sue Doolin (1955-2025)

Mrs. Martha Sue Doolin, 70, of Gray, the wife of Garfield Doolin, passed away Wednesday evening, March 5, 2025 at Baptist Health Corbin.  She was born February 27, 1955 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of the late Harold and Edna Smith Young.

Martha was a former employee of Warner’s and a member of the New Hope Church of God.  She enjoyed reading, crafting, scrap booking, crocheting and was a member of the Homemakers Club.  Martha also enjoyed taking trips with her church and working with Operation Christmas Child.  She most loved her time spoiling the grandchildren.

On May 9, 2008, she united in marriage with Garfield Doolin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Hubbs and a special cousin, Phyllis Skidmore.

Survivors include her loving husband, Garfield Doolin of Gray; children, Anthony Hubbs and wife, Jamie, and Priscilla Ison and husband, Mike, all of Corbin; a sister, Patricia Stanfield and husband, Charlie, of Bowling Green; brothers, Glynn Young, of Corbin, Mark Young and wife, Michelle, of Chattanooga, TN, Philip Young, of Corbin, Sherman Young, of Corbin, and Randall Young and wife, April, of Middlesboro; cherished grandchildren, Amber, Cody and Gary Hubbs and Arianna Semar; among other relatives and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, March 12 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Ronnie Doyle and Rev. Mike Addison officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Young Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.

Gifts of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Knox County Homemakers Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
