Mrs. Martha Brown, 85, of Barbourville, passed away Thursday morning, September 12, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Barbara Baker born April 9, 1939 at Scalf.
Martha was a former American Greeting employee and a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church. She also previously worked for the KCEOC. Martha was a social butterfly who was always looking to make new friends and in her later years enjoyed spending time talking on the phone and cooking family meals. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
On November 30, 1957 she united in marriage with Relta Brown, who preceded her in death. On September 22, 2006, she later united in marriage with William Thomas “Tommy” Grubb who also preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosie and Viola Brown and brothers, Garrett and Eugene Brown.
Survivors include her loving children Kathy Smith of London, Deborah Mills and husband, Cecil, of Bimble and Denver Brown and wife, Patsy, of Cannon; cherished grandchildren, Jason, Caleb, Jon, Ivy and Cody; great-grandchildren, Hunter, C.J., Jenna, Jaici, Bentley and Josh; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, September 16 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Vernon Morris officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Cecil Mills, Jason Smith, Caleb Jarvis, Hunter Smith, John Brown and Cody Brown.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
