Mrs. Marsha Kay Farris, age 75 of Barbourville departed this life on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was born on February 25, 1949, the daughter of Oscar and Francis (Disney) Hammons. She united in marriage with Dorosal Parsons and to this union one son was born. Later in life, she united in marriage with James Farris.
Marsha was a lifelong member of East Barbourville Baptist Church. She played piano there for over twenty years and also served as youth choir director.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Francis Hammons, her first husband Dorosal Parsons, her second husband James Farris and one brother, Doug Hammons.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her loving son, Kevin Parsons and wife Kristen of Barbourville, two grandchildren, Allison Peyton and husband Alex and Capt. Tanner Parsons and one great-grandchild, Samuel Byon Peyton. Marsha also leaves behind many other relatives, friends and loved ones.
The family will be holding private services at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to East Barbourville Baptist Church in her memory.
