Marie (Smith) Jordan age 83 of Cannon, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, February 28, 2022 in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 23, 1938 in Knox County, the daughter of Boone and Mary Smith. On March 28, 1952, she united in marriage with Thomas Jordan and to this union two children were born. Marie was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church and attended Locust Grove Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Jordan and her parents, Boone and Mary Smith, one sister, Lula Smith and four brothers, Jabe Smith, Will Smith, Daniel Smith and Curly Smith.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her son, Harold Jordan and wife Joetta of Cannon and daughter, Lola Gaddis and husband James of Gray, two brothers, J.L. Smith and wife Marietta and Walter Smith and wife Kathy all of Woolum, two sisters, Edna Branstutter of Barbourville and LouEllen Townsley and husband Clarence Ray of Michigan, a brother-in-law, Bert Smith of Gray and two sisters-in-law, Kathy Smith of Woolum and Marietta Smith both of Woolum, four grandchildren, Cody Hacker and wife Nickie, Effie Marie Cox and husband Mike, Casey Jordan and wife Cindy and Shannon Broughton and husband Adam, eight great-grandchildren, Lynady Hacker, Cadyn Hacker, Byron Callebs, Debra Macayla Callebs, Ryker Jordan, Journey Jordan, Kinley Broughton and Lela Broughton. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Jordan will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Barnard officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews. She will be laid to rest in the Calvin Jordan Cemetery at Woolum. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
