Mrs. Marian Jean “Jeanie” Helton, 73, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Marion and Ruth Ollis McKee born on December 21, 1951 in Whitley County.
Jeanie was a former customer service representative with Datatrac Information Services and a devoted member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, where she found strength and comfort in her faith. She was a member of New Bethel’s WMU. Jeanie lived a life filled with love, faith and dedication to her family and community. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing.
On February 20, 1993, she united in marriage with Doug Helton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Gail Moses, Sheryl Ann Marsee and Peggy McKee.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 32 years, Doug Helton of Barbourville; children, Thomas Manning of Williamsburg, Michelle Saylor and husband, Bobby, of Corbin and April Helton and Mike of Middletown, OH; a sister, Linda Collett and husband, Jimmy, of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Saylor, Stephanie Huston and Dakota Huston; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Nathan and Jaxon; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, April 9 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Helton Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
